Description
Less than a year after the St. Louis District of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers told the public that portions of the Mississippi River flood protection levees might not survive a 100-year flood event, communities in both Missouri and Illinois have stepped up to fund much-needed repairs to the aging levee system. The transition was explored during presentations at a Midwest Levee Conference in St. Louis in early June.
