| Description |
Gainesville, Fla., has begun an $18.2-million traffic management upgrade that includes plans to build a wireless network for traffic-signal control. City-owned Gainesville Regional Utilities originally planned to connect the signals with fiber optics, says Ted C. Kellermann, GRU’s director of sales and new services. Then he figured a mesh wireless foundation might offer additional benefits. “My vision is a platform that can grow with future services and products,” Kellermann says.
