CORRUPTION
Former DePalma Exec Indicted

Howard M. Schoor, founder and former chairman-CEO of Schoor DePalma Inc., Manalapan, N.J., was indicted Dec. 14 on one federal count of bribing two state municipal officials. Schoor retired in August 2005. The firm "cooperated in the government's investigation and is not accused of wrongdoing," says U.S. Attorney Christopher Christie. Schoor DePalma says Schoor, 67, had "limited involvement" in its activities since leaving his posts in 1992, and that stricter ethics rules were adopted in 2005.
