The Netherlands-based ARCADIS Acquires U.S. CM PinnacleOne

In what industry observers say is a play for new capabilities, ARCADIS, the Dutch global engineering giant, said Nov. 2 that it bought PinnacleOne Inc., a Phoenix-based construction/program management firm with 2006 U.S. revenue of $35 million. Transaction terms were not disclosed. The purchase furthers ARCADIS' aim "for seamless global project delivery" says CEO Harrie Noy. ARCADIS ranks 12th on ENR's list of Top 150 Global Design Firms with $1.2 billion of design revenue. It also reports about $140 million in global CM/PM revenue. ARCADIS, through its U.S. base in Denver, also reports $560 million in 2005 U.S. design revenue. "We see a great fit" with ARCADIS, says PinnacleOne CEO Charles Dahill. "Look for others to play PAC Man," says one industry executive. "Sometimes buying a company and its talent is easier than recruiting those folks away."
