| The U.S. and Canadian governments took final steps to put into force, effective Oct. 12, a trade agreement that aims to end a lengthy dispute between the two countries on softwood lumber. The pact ends limits on Canadian lumber exports to the U.S. when prices top a trigger level of $355 per thousand board feet.
