| Fluor Corp. has lodged a pre-emptive bid for the U.K.'s. largest nuclear cleanup company, British Nuclear Group. BNG's main task is management of the huge Sellafield facility in Cumbria, which is being progressively shut down. Fluor has urged owner British Nuclear Fuels plc. not to break up BNG as it proposed a week earlier.
