| Unusual top-down installation of a new aircraft control tower recently marked mid-construction of the $8-billion fifth terminal complex at London’s Heathrow airport. To minimize disruption, owner BAA plc had the $80-million tower prefabricated off site and raised by strand jacks to keep equipment below the airport’s operational radar ceiling.
