| Mack's new "axle-back" truck is the latest member in its four-year-old Granite series of Class-8 haulers. Front axles are mounted 17 in. closer to the rear of the cab than on previous models, allowing contractors to take advantage of an 8% shorter wheelbase that turns tighter and distributes more payload on the front end.
