Article Description Sixteen mid-rise buildings in Shenzen, China, were rigged with 1,500 lb of explosives and imploded May 22, the countrys largest urban demolition ever, according to Xinhua News Agency. The blast covered 51,000 sq meters. A 40,000-sq-m stadium was demolished in Guangzhou in 2002, reported Xinhua. One building remained standing and was pulled down with bulldozers. |
