NEW JERSEY Penn National Gaming announced plans to build a new hotel-casino on an old oil depot site along Rte. 30, bordered by Huron Ave., Brigantine Blvd. and White Horse Pike, in Atlantic City. OHIO TranSystems was awarded a contract by Cuyahoga County to evaluate and design the rehabilitation or replacement of the Columbus Road Lift Bridge over the Cuyahoga River in Cleveland. The contract calls for TranSystems to conduct a preliminary engineering study to compare a major rehabilitation verses total bridge replacement alternatives. The study will provide Cuyahoga County with information and cost comparisons to select the most economical and feasible alternative for the site. As part of the contract, TranSystems will conduct environmental services, including geotechnical engineering and testing, field surveying, electrical, hydraulic and mechanical design, roadway traffic, lighting and utility engineering.
