Description: Costs for steel, fuel and service are on the rise, but that hasn’t stopped original-equipment manufacturers from aggressively pushing machines abroad to profit from plant capacity. “Be certain that Chinese OEMs are deadly serious in their export ambitions,” says David C.A. Phillips, managing director of Off-Highway Research, London. Chinese exports of construction machinery increased 77% last year, to 16,589 units, he estimates and predicts a 20% to 40% increase this year.
