Aviation: House Approves Six-Month FAA Extension

With authority for Federal Aviation Administration programs, including construction grants, due to expire on Sept. 30, the House on Sept. 23 passed a six-month extension. The next step is Senate action. The bill provides $1.95 billion of contract authority for Airport Improvement Program grants through March 31 and extends taxes flowing to the Airport and Airway Trust Fund. The bill is the latest of several stopgaps needed because Congress has not passed a multiyear measure.
