Canadian engineer Stantec Inc.’s recent acquisition binge has now taken it into new territory, marketwise and geographically. The Edmonton, Alberta-based giant announced on May 15 its intent to move into deep-subsurface mining design with the planned purchase of McIntosh Engineering, a niche specialist with a growing array of mining projects around the world.
