Description:
City trash collection will resume in Galveston, Texas, the first week of November, but “every day is trash day here,” says a spokesman for DRC Emergency Services, one of two contractors hired by the city of Galveston to remove the mammoth piles of debris Hurricane Ike left in its wake. About 75% of the structures in Galveston sustained damage from Ike’s 12-ft storm surge, which came onshore on Sept. 13.
