Description: As it prepares to invest over $2.5 billion in new school construction over the next five years, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts is taking a bold step to reign in school-building costs by adopting a model-school pilot program. The state’s School Building Authority selected two school designs that would help public authorities adopt off-the-shelf designs in order to cut high-school design and construction costs by up to 30%.
