Description: In the U.S. military’s first stab at privatized housing overseas, the Army has picked a U.S.-Korean joint venture for a $1.3-billion project to build 2,400 residence units at a base being expanded south of Seoul, South Korea. The project, to be financed totally by private sources, is part of an estimated $10-billion plan to relocate up to 44,000 troops and family from the 600-acre Yongsan Garrison in Seoul. Selected to design, build, finance, own and operate the housing project at Camp Humphreys is a team led by Pinnacle AMS Development Co. LLC, an Irvine, Calif., housing developer.
