Description:
Idaho has become the first in the U.S. to implement a statewide system for electronic building permit and plan review. It offers web-based electronic file submission and review to architects, developers and the public who undergo code-compliance plan reviews. The state plans to include the electronic service for fire safety and homeland security permits and plans as well. The move is part of a state effort to improve services. The state’s electronic permitting and review system is expected to expedite plan approval while reducing paper, according to officials.
