Fluor Wins $1-Billion Contract For Uranium-Enrichment Plant - ENR | McGraw-Hill Construction

Description: USEC Inc., Bethesda, Md., on Sept. 25 awarded a $1-billion engineering, procurement and construction services contract to Fluor Corp., Irving, Texas, for its new $3.5-billion gas-centrifuge uranium- enrichment plant in Piketon, Ohio. Fluor has completed about $466 million of the front-end engineering and design work since 2004. The new contract runs until 2012 and will include a demonstration project expected to be operational in 2010, as well as the entire facility, which will be built out in modular phases.
