Description: Construction on the Trinity River Central City Project in Fort Worth, Texas, moved ahead with the Sept. 5 signing of a Project Partnership Agreement between the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and Tarrant Regional Water District. The PPA will address flood-risk management and lay the foundation for the remainder of the project, which will encompass revitalization of Forth Worth’s central city, ecosystem restoration and recreation. A central feature of the $576-million project will be an 8,400-ft-long bypass channel, estimated at more than $40 million, replacing levees for flood control on the Trinity River.
