Description: A $60-million Ontario government grant to build a college campus on Toronto’s Lake Ontario waterfront is a major boost to the city’s long-term waterfront revitalization efforts. Premier Dalton McGuinty announced funding for the George Brown College Centre for Health Sciences on July 8. Slated for construction start in 2009 and completion in 2011, the $89-million, two-building campus is based on Montreal architect Renèe Daoust’s conceptual design. When completed, the revitalization will include 6,000 residential units, transit lines and 2.5 million sq ft of office space.
