OSHA Targets NYC Safety Crisis

The U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration announced on June 23 that for a two-week period, starting immediately, it will send a dozen additional inspectors to New York City to conduct proactive inspections of high-rise construction sites, cranes and other places where fatalities and serious accidents have occurred. In addition, ongoing inspections will continue. Since January, OSHA reports that 20 workers have died in construction-related accidents in the city.
