L.A.’s MTA Sues Contractors For Faulty-Work Subway Line - ENR | McGraw-Hill Construction

Description: The Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) on Feb. 15 filed a $25-million lawsuit against the design-build team in charge of constructing a 1,170-ft-long, 30-ft-wide cut-and-cover tunnel as part of the first 13.7-mile phase of the Pasadena Gold Line, claiming the contractors failed to meet construction standards outlined in the contract. The lawsuit, which cites breach of contract and negligence, names Kiewit Pacific Co., Washington Infrastructure Services Inc. and Parsons Corp., among others. The team’s $260-million contract was completed in 2003.
