To finish Pittsburgh’s David L. Lawrence Convention Center in time for its first booked events, contractors rushed the job. This haste and an unrealistic budget led to the collapse of a section of floor in February 2007, says a draft report by Allegheny County Controller Mark Patrick Flaherty.
