The American Concrete Institute (ACI) revealed its updated building code, ACI-318-08, during the World of Concrete tradeshow on Jan. 23 in Las Vegas. The changes mark the first major revisions since 2005 related to structural concrete construction, design, and commentary. The 467-page publication is expected to be adopted in the 2009 International Building Code. It additionally satisfies the requirements of ISO 19338:2007, "Performance and Assessment Requirements for Design Standards on Structural Concrete."
