The Top 400 Contractors

Publication Date: 13-MAY-09
Author: Gary J. Tulacz
Format: HTML

Description:
For large contractors, the roller-coaster ride began slowly in early 2008, when the credit markets started tightening in the wake of the housing meltdown. The descent started to accelerate in midsummer when commercial and retail dried up. Then the bottom fell out as the economy crashed in late summer of last year, crippling the financial in- stitutions that provide the lifeblood of the industry. Many firms believe the downward slide may be easing, but it will be a long, slow climb back up.
